Fixing My Mistakes: Giving My Clients the Best w/ Printed Art, Keepsakes, & Heirlooms

One of my reasons for loving photography has always been being able to hold “tangible memories” and look through them time and time again. When I first started offering photography services I considered offering prints, but assumed that perhaps my clients would take their files to be printed. For whatever reason, I believed that others would have that same desire to have actual printed art, keepsakes, & herilooms, so I handed over files through an online gallery.
About a year in, I was working with a loyal client who had come to me a number of times for portraits, and noticed that she had not one portrait on the walls of her studio. Seeing that two of her previous photography sessions were directly for her career, I naturally assumed that she would line the walls of her office/studio, but I was unfortunately wrong.
I asked her why she hadn’t had those gorgeous portraits hanging up to properly represent her brand and she told me, “You know, I thought about it once but just never got around to it.”
Later, I logged onto the online gallery site I used, checking the download status of the folders of every client I had (including that of weddings) and was floored. Almost every single folder had only been downloaded once, with some only having a few of the 100+ files downloaded.
In all honesty, I felt silly.
All this time I was feeling proud that I was taking beautiful portraits of my clients and never thought that I was letting them down. They not only needed my professional photography services, but they also needed my professional services in guiding them in how to turn those portraits into printed art they could actually cherish.

I Immediately Went to Work to Become A Full Service Photographer.
You aren’t coming to me simply for portrait photography, but for an experience, and I will no longer let you down. You will be able to look to me for not only capturing your engagement, your family, or your growing belly, but you can count on me to help you decide what photographs masterfully did so. It isn’t a lot to ask. It’s what should be expected.
The bare minimum.
